Withstand
Ephesians 6:13 NKJV ”Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.“
When the battle is raging on and the day is evil. The word says take up the whole armor, right?!
That you may with stand … I believe it is not just saying stand with the armor- but take the armor with to stand! Hold the armor together with you as you stand against…, not only for what you came there for but what you came there for to stand against.
What am I saying is… as a sharp tongue would ordinarily lash out at someone, use the same to speak the word and wield the sword (Gods words in scripture) in the battle. As you would use a shield to fence the enemy with, the words of faith, is your shield that you will quench the fiery darts or arrows of the with as you stand, with your words being Gods word as your armor stand up against the enemy.
When you feel like the pressure of life is pushing you down. You stand up with Gods’ Word in your heart and you speak it with your mouth and you say. ‘uh-uh Devil not today! I am a child of God and I won let you push me up down or around anymore. Take your hands off my marriage, my family and children etc. I stand against you with Gods’ word which says… The Blood of conquest gave me victory and blessed me. Therefore you cannot curse what God has blessed, so GO!”.
And hence you stand against the devil, resisting him until you get what you came there to stand for as you cover yourself in the blood of Jesus and ‘with-stand’.
