God’s Power and Glory | A Life-Changing Encounter

God’s Power and Glory: The atmosphere and Holy Spirit was electric this past Sunday at Rhema South Coast Family Church. Our sanctuary overflowed with people hungry for God’s presence. You could feel it in the air—the anticipation, the expectation for something extraordinary. And as always, God delivered exceedingly, abundantly and above!

It was Day 21 of our 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer, and as we gathered for this powerful conclusion, it was clear: God was moving. The past three weeks had been a journey of spiritual growth, deepened faith, and intimate encounters with Him.

Ps Larry Elliott preaching at the anointing service.

Pastor Larry stepped onto the stage with a message that was more than words; it was a divine appointment. The theme, God’s Power & Glory, set the tone for what was to come—a reminder of who God is, what He can do, and how we are called to reflect His presence in our lives. The theme scripture, drawn from the Lord’s Prayer, challenged us to realign our hearts:

“For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen” (Matthew 6:13, NKJV).

If you missed the start of this life-changing series, I encourage you to revisit the first sermon: Teach Us to Pray. As we unpack this final chapter together, let’s step into the fullness of what God has in store.

The Essence of True Prayer

As Pastor Larry spoke about prayer on Sunday, it was clear that true prayer goes beyond words. It’s not just about presenting our needs to God but about positioning our hearts before Him.

Prayer starts with worship—acknowledging who God is and honouring His character. Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). This isn’t just a line to recite; it’s a call to prioritise God’s will above our own.

True prayer also balances our earthly and spiritual needs. While asking for “daily bread” is important, it’s equally vital to seek God’s kingdom first. When we pray with this mindset, we trust Him not only for provision but for guidance, strength, and purpose.

Pastor Larry reminded us that prayer is a relationship. Here he is talking earnestly to Rhema South Coast Family Church

Pastor Larry reminded us that prayer is a relationship. It’s about spending time with God, cultivating intimacy, and building trust. When we come before Him, we don’t just ask for blessings—we seek to know Him more deeply.

And here’s the beauty of true prayer: it’s a daily victory. By placing our faith in God each day, we entrust our future to Him. As Pastor Larry said, “If you pray with faith today, you’ll wake up in God’s will tomorrow.”

Prayer isn’t a formula or a task to tick off—it’s an invitation to walk with God, hear His voice, and let His presence transform our lives. Let’s make prayer more than a request; let’s make it a daily pursuit of intimacy with our Father.

Overcoming Worry and Embracing Faith

Worry—it’s something we’ve all faced, yet it’s a burden we were never meant to carry. As Pastor Larry shared on Sunday, worry is a thief. It steals our peace, hinders our faith, and opens the door to fear, anxiety, and even depression. It keeps us stuck, focusing on the “what ifs” instead of the certainty of God’s promises.

But here’s the truth: worry has no power to change your situation. Jesus asked a powerful question in Matthew 6:27, “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” Worry doesn’t solve problems; it only drains your energy and clouds your perspective.

The antidote to worry is trust. When we place our faith in God, we shift our focus from what’s wrong to who He is. Trust produces hope, and hope empowers us to take action—even when the future feels uncertain. Jesus promises that when we “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things shall be added to [us]” (Matthew 6:33).

Living in Faith

Living in faith means trusting God’s timing and believing that He is always working behind the scenes. It’s easy to feel discouraged when answers don’t come quickly, but remember: God’s delays are not His denials. He sees the bigger picture and knows exactly what we need and when we need it.

So, how do we overcome worry and embrace faith?

  1. We anchor ourselves in God’s Word, Power and Glory.
  2. We pray for His guidance,
  3. and rest in His promises.

Pastor Larry reminded us that faith doesn’t mean we’ll never face challenges—it means we trust God to bring us through them.

As we move forward, we’ll discover how God’s power and glory equip us for a life of purpose and victory. To learn more about unlocking the potential God has placed within you, check out this resource: Unlimited Potential: Release the Power Within You.

The Power of God in Action | A Life of Purpose and Impact

Walking in the power of God isn’t just a lofty idea—it’s a reality we can experience every day. When we embrace His power, we’re equipped to overcome obstacles, experience healing, and see His miracles unfold in our lives.

Pastor Larry reminded us on Sunday that God’s power isn’t limited by our circumstances. “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen” (Matthew 6:13). His power enables us to rise above challenges, no matter how impossible they seem. Whether it’s a financial breakthrough, physical healing, or restored relationships, God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Living in God’s Power and Glory

But it doesn’t stop there. The power of God is intertwined with His glory. Living in God’s glory means carrying His presence with you, walking in His divine favour, and seeing His provision manifest in every area of your life. It’s about open doors, divine connections, and blessings that overflow.

When you live in God’s power and glory, you don’t just survive—you thrive. You’re no longer bound by fear or uncertainty because you know who goes before you. His presence brings peace, His favour creates opportunities, and His provision meets every need.

Pastor Larry reminded us of Proverbs 30:8-9, where Solomon prayed, “Give me neither poverty nor riches—feed me with the food allotted to me.” This balance keeps us focused on God rather than chasing material things. When we pursue God, His blessings follow us.

If you’re facing challenges or seeking direction, we’re here for you. Contact us for prayer or guidance at Rhema South Coast Family Church. Together, we’ll believe for God’s power to transform your situation.

As we move forward, we’ll see how God’s anointing equips us to be bold witnesses and make an impact in the world. His power isn’t just for us—it’s for those He’s called us to reach.

The Anointing | Commissioned for Greatness

Sunday’s anointing service was a moment we’ll never forget. As Pastor Larry led us in this sacred act, the presence of the Holy Spirit filled the room, equipping us for a year of purpose and impact. It wasn’t just about receiving oil on our heads—it was about stepping into the fullness of our calling as God’s chosen people.

The anointing empowers us to live boldly and with purpose. In Acts 4:8-34, we see the incredible transformation of Peter and John. Once timid fishermen, they became fearless proclaimers of the gospel after being filled with the Holy Spirit. They healed the sick, spoke with authority, and refused to back down, even in the face of persecution. That same boldness and power are available to us today.

But here’s the beauty of God’s anointing: it’s not just for personal gain. The anointing is a call to action. It empowers us to be witnesses of Christ, to build others up, and to make a difference in our communities. Pastor Larry reminded us that we’re not called to keep this power to ourselves. We’re commissioned to spread the good news, to bring hope to the hurting, and to leave a lasting legacy of faith.

Together, We are Stronger

This is why community is so important. As a church family, we provide the support, encouragement, and accountability needed to walk out our purpose. Together, we are stronger. Together, we can impact the world for Christ.

The anointing doesn’t just equip us—it unites us. As we move forward in faith, let’s remember that we’re not alone. We’re part of something bigger, something eternal.

In the next section, we’ll see how this anointing compels us to live daily in faith and purpose, trusting God to guide our every step.

Living Out the Call | Faith in Action Every Day

As we reflect on Sunday’s powerful service, it’s clear that God is calling each of us to action. This isn’t just about hearing His Word—it’s about living it. The principles we’ve learned don’t stop at the church doors! They’re meant to shape our daily lives, guiding us to walk in faith, purpose, and impact.

Here’s the truth: God is with you every step of the way. Whatever challenges you face, He’s already gone ahead, preparing the path and equipping you to overcome. Through faith and reliance on Him, there’s nothing you can’t conquer.

So, how do we take what we’ve heard and put it into practice? Here are some ways to live out the call:

  1. Commit to daily prayer and time in God’s Word. Start each day by connecting with Him. Prayer aligns your heart with His, and His Word equips you for every challenge.
  2. Practice forgiveness and cultivate a heart of love and compassion. Forgiveness isn’t just for others—it’s for you. Release what’s holding you back and let God’s love fill your heart.
  3. Seek opportunities to serve. Whether it’s helping a neighbour, volunteering in your community, or encouraging someone in need, small acts of kindness can have a big impact.
  4. Embrace the anointing. Remember, you’re not just blessed—you’re commissioned. Step boldly into your calling and live with intention, knowing God’s power and glory are working through you.

Part of Something Bigger

Pastor Larry reminded us that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves. Each of us has a role to play in advancing God’s kingdom. As you step out in faith, trust that He will guide your steps. He will open the right doors, and provide everything you need to fulfil your purpose.

Let’s make this year one of action, impact, and faith. Together, as a church family, we’ll see lives transformed, communities uplifted, and God’s glory revealed in ways we can’t yet imagine.

Stepping Into God’s Power and Glory

As we conclude this incredible journey of 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer, let’s pause and marvel at what God has done.

  • His grace has carried us,
  • His power has equipped us,
  • and His glory has been revealed in our midst.

The transformative power of God’s grace doesn’t just change circumstances—it changes us. It enables us to rise above challenges, live with purpose, and impact the world around us. As we move forward, let’s carry this truth: we are anointed, empowered, and commissioned to be bold witnesses for Christ.
