A Harvest Beyond Expectation pt 4 by Ps Larry Elliott

A Harvest Beyond Expectation

A Higher Calling

Luke 6:27-28 NKJV “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.”

Luke 6:35-36 NKJV “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.”

A Higher Calling:- Which is Loving God and Loving people, becoming Christlike and Serving others! Winning the Lost, Discipling the Saved!

Mark 16:19-20 NKJV “So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.”

God has a higher purpose for our lives, but often because of tests, trials and the opposition we give up, get weary and settle for mediocre!

Father, I pray that you will kindle a passion in us your people to be filled, refreshed & anointed, let your Spirit rise up in us and on us. We now we cannot change ourselves but your Word will transform us and your Holy Spirit empower us to be the LIGHT.

Sometimes we need to just press pause, reflect on the mission, remind ourselves who God is, get back up and in His Strength keep moving forward!

Philippians 3:13-14 KJV ”Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.“

We have all decided to SERVE THE LORD (Soul-Winning and making disciples)

Joshua said as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord I saw the picture of Israel “Camped” on the hill and Goliath going into the Valley and taunting and intimidating them daily, they were frozen by fear and living in the place of indecision & intimidation… But along comes David filled with God and He makes a decision to confront the Giant….

When you DECIDE to follow the Lord, God builds your Faith and places you where you need to be, YOUR LIFE MAKES A DIFFERENCE…..

I Samuel 17:50-52 NKJV “So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. (How to get a Head / Psalm 23) And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. Now the men of Israel and Judah arose and shouted, and pursued the Philistines as far as the entrance of the valley….”

Arise in Faith

Shout for Joy

Pursue God’s purpose

Your Higher Calling is to WIN and Winning is an ART and God gives you the formula and then backs you up 100%!

I Corinthians 9:19 NKJV “For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;”

THE FORMULA

  1. Understand the importance and need of winning new people to Christ through evangelism.

Proverbs 11:30 NKJV “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise.”

God sent Jesus because of His absolute Love and Desire for the redemption of Mankind, Jesus carried this Passion to Earth leaving His throne of glory to became a man, so He could teach us and show us the truth in our language.

Everything He did was for the salvation of souls.

Proverbs 11:30 AMPC “The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men–he gathers and receives them for eternity]. [Matt. 4:19; I Cor. 9:19; James 5:20.]”

A winner of souls has connected to the Wisdom of God overcome a selfish heart and now has a heart that desires to help people attain God’s redeeming grace.

Evangelism is about making the most of every opportunity we come across, using it to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:14-15 NKJV “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!””

  1. Learn the requirements that a soul winner should have to successfully complete their mission.
  2. Always starts with Prayer and Intercession.
  • Plan fasting, intercession and prayer.
  • Do this for the people you want to come to know Jesus’ light and for the needs of each one of them.
  1. B. Be who you are, but be a Witness. (There are requirements to being a soul winning, disciple-maker)
  • Holiness: (Salt & Light) If you want to be used by God, you must live in holiness and completely move away from a life of sin.
  • Spiritual: You should be spiritually sensitive so that you can hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to you.(don’t be religious and remain sincere). There should be a close relationship in your life with Holy Spirit because your life and your ministry depend on Him.
  • Humility: You need to depend entirely on the Holy Spirit. He is the one who works in the lives of the lost.
  • Faith: Do not look at the circumstances; keep your heart and all of your being grounded in the Word of God, and act in accordance with in.
  • Simplicity: Take Jesus as your example; He saved people very simply, from every walk of life.
  • Complete dependence on Christ: Always seek to do things under the direction of the Lord Jesus.

  1. Learn these principles that help us in the work of an evangelist.

II Timothy 4:5 NKJV “But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”

II Corinthians 5:18 NKJV “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,”

Romans 10:14 NKJV “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”

PREACHER: to publish, proclaim openly: something which has been done, with gravity & authority! The message that comes out of our mouths can and should carry the same anointing and power as the words that came from Jesus’ lips.

I therefore recommend that we:

  • Always speak about Jesus. Your goal should be to bring every person who hears you into a full relationship with Jesus Christ. When someone accepts the Word of God in their heart, the Word of God comes and lives in them and forms part of their life.
  • Always motivate with words of Faith. You should endeavour to bring a word of motivation to people. Do not enter into arguments with them: It is better to lose an argument and win a soul.
  • Use positive language. It is best to say something that brings hope to people; make the most of the time that God gives you with your family, friends and disciples to share His word.
  • Use your words to fill people’s emotional emptiness. Generally, those who allow negative thoughts into their minds also allow them to enter and take root in their emotions. We should determine in our hearts that every one of our words will be like a balm for the souls of those who hear us so that they can start believing in themselves, in God and in people again.
  • Make sure that your message contains the answer to the person’s need. We should always be thinking, “I need to communicate something that he or she really needs.” People are always hoping for an answer to their family, moral, emotional and spiritual needs which have been troubling them continually.
  • Your message should be constant, perseverant and effective because at stake is the salvation of millions of people who just need to hear the Word.
  • Have integrity, when you do it is the believer’s powerful weapon. When what we say determines what we do, we stand in our authority and our mouths can determine the future.

Colossians 4:3-6 NIV “And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

How to be a WITNESS

  1. Don’t let the GIANT of intimidation stop you from sharing the good news with others….(Denise and her friend from 40 years ago)

Once God has placed the desire in our hearts to WIN others for Christ you go in that PASSION not your own intelligence or ability….

When our spiritual eyes are opened and we see the terrible end that awaits those who remain far from God, His power will be made perfect even in our weakness! God will take the little that you have in your hands because little in God’s hands becomes much and becomes a great blessing. (The boy who had five loaves of bread and two fish allowed Jesus to use them to feed a multitude)

  1. Develop a servants heart

The heart of a servant perceives peoples’ needs and does something to meet them, even before meeting their own.

Colossians 3:17 NKJV “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

  1. Just Go

Use different resources to communicate effectively. Those entrusted with the responsibility of preaching the gospel have the anointing of the Holy Spirit. At the same time, however, it is still good to use interesting illustrations, parables, and testimonies that edify, and to use technology well.

  1. Close the Deal

As sales people we were always taught you need to know how to close the deal!

Lead them in Prayer:

Romans 10:9-10 NKJV “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

4.To learn to recognize when a person has been truly won.

Ladder of Success:

Win

Consolidate

Disciple

Send

  • Make a winning lifestyle. We can not win if we do not have the attitude of a winner. God is a God of balance, so there should be balance in all areas of people’s lives.
  • Specialise in the strategy God gives you. Remember that strategy is won in the secret place. The strategy that God gives you is the one that will work and take you to victory. Therefore, it is important to dedicate yourself to developing it.
  • Visualise how many people you want to win. This requires seeing in the dimension of faith. When you can clearly visualise in the spiritual world, your level of faith will rise.
  • Establish weekly goals. Just as you set goals for your studies, your work and the other areas of your life, it is important to plan with the Lord how many souls you are going to win each week.

Conclusion

At the start of His ministry Jesus chose (Win) and formed (consolidate) twelve men, from different social classes so that they could meet the needs of the multitudes, taught them how to be ministers (Disciple) and then sent them out (Send)

Their success would depend on how much they were given over to making known this message of salvation.
