Yet another powerful Sunday with Pastor Larry on the stage–continuing our impactful series, “The Blood Applied.”
With Pastor Mandy having laid a profound foundation on “The Blood of Identity“, and Pastor Larry having just come back from powerfully spreading the gospel, the atmosphere was charged with divine revelation. His message, “Through the Blood, By Faith, You Can!”, was a stirring reminder of the limitless possibilities available to us through Christ.
Catch the Vision—Go Win Your One
Pastor Larry kicked off with a powerful declaration. He echoed the sentiment of a church he recently visited: “You may not use the word ‘I can’t’.” He even jokingly suggested a “meter maid” ministry to fine anyone caught uttering those limiting words! This light-hearted, but profound challenge, set the tone for a sermon rooted in the unwavering truth of God’s Word.
The Foundation of “I Can”
Pastor Larry’s message powerfully echoed Philippians 4:13 (NKJV): “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.“
He emphasized that this isn’t a statement of self-reliance, but a profound truth anchored in God’s unchangeable nature. “God cannot lie, God will not lie, and God does not lie,” Pastor Larry asserted, underscoring that if God said it, then “that settles it and that means you CAN.”
Opening up Philippians 4:12-13 (TPT), Pastor Larry highlighted Paul’s profound understanding: “I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I am trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.“
This isn’t about our circumstances, whether in “lack or… overwhelming abundance,” but about being “trained” in Christ’s sufficiency. As Pastor Larry explained, Paul understood that “regardless of where you find yourself today, you need Jesus. You need Christ in your life to infuse you with his powerful strength.”
The Blood of Redemption and Conquest
Pastor Larry then guided us through two more powerful aspects of Jesus’ shed blood:
- The Blood of Redemption:
This blood empowers us to walk in divine health and peace. Because of it, we can live a life free from the bondage of sickness and unhealthy patterns. Let’s walk in the wholeness Christ purchased for us.
- The Blood of Conquest:
This aspect of the blood gives us the confidence and faith to overcome every obstacle.
Jesus’ mission was “World Conquest” and “Redemption”—to “destroy Satan’s evil plan for man. To win souls back to God and take back the right to this world!” This same conquering spirit is now available to us through His blood.
God’s Vision and Strategy: Go and Make Disciples
Pastor Larry powerfully reminded us that “God’s dream is way bigger than you and I can even imagine.”
Jesus came with a clear strategy, outlined in Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV): “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'”
This “ladder of success”—Win, Consolidate, Disciple, Send—is summed up in one powerful word: “Go!” Pastor Larry passionately stated, “Every single believer is a leader. Every leader needs to be a soul winner and a disciple maker.” He challenged us to consider, “Who’s going to be your one?”
The Blood – Moving in Our Youth
He then brought out some of our incredible youth leaders – Richard, Amashanza, Donald, and Aanki – who shared their powerful testimonies from the recent Youth Fest. Their stories beautifully illustrated the practical application of discipleship:
- Amahle spoke on the “Duality of Leadership,” emphasizing that true leaders must be “both liked and disliked,” “gentle and tough,” and “the first one in and the last one out.” This means making tough decisions for the good of others, pushing them out of their comfort zones into Christ.
- Donald shared from the story of the paralyzed man in Mark 2, highlighting the power of teamwork in “loving your one.” He emphasized that “multiplied works equals to multiplied faith,” and that together, we can overcome obstacles to bring our “one” to Jesus.
- Richard reinforced the importance of being a “legacy builder” by “winning the next generation” through intentional discipleship. He stressed that “you don’t grow by time,” but by actively stepping out and making disciples.
- Awonke shared a poignant message from the parable of the fig tree, asking, “If we are in Christ, what fruit are we giving?” She reminded us that God plants us to bear fruit, and that our part is to “make disciples,” lest we “deceive Jesus by looking fruitful but having no fruit.”
These young people are living proof that “Through the Blood, By Faith, You Can!”
Pastor Larry then illustrated the “win one” concept, inviting congregation members to stand as their “one.” This demonstrated how each of us can actively participate in winning souls, and filling the church.
He shared a powerful testimony from Limpopo. A seasoned pastor, after hearing about our church’s discipleship journey, wept and led his entire congregation in a recommitment to soul winning. This is the heart of God’s vision for Rhema South Coast Family Church!
Living with Vision and Purpose
Pastor Larry wrapped up with a gentle reminder: vision guides every step. He quoted Proverbs 29:18. (NKJV): “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.” Without God’s revelation, we drift. With it, our souls find joy. It’s that simple.
Following Jesus is a daily choice. Growing into soul‑winners takes time. Remember how He turned ordinary fishermen into “fishers of people” (Matthew 4:19-20 NKJV)? He’s shaping us the same way. When we trust the power of His blood, faith takes root—and suddenly, “I can” feels true.
So here’s our challenge for the week. Think of one person—a sibling, a friend, a colleague, maybe the neighbour over the fence. Pray for them by name. Reach out. Share Christ’s love in a real, practical way. Believe that God can use you to change a life. Let’s do this together.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the precious blood of Jesus. It empowers us to say, “I can!”
We declare our redemption and our ability to conquer every challenge through Your strength. Holy Spirit, infuse us with Your explosive power to live out Your vision for soul winning and discipleship.
Help us to identify our “one” and boldly share the transforming power of the Blood of Identity. May Rhema South Coast Family Church be a lighthouse, actively pursuing Your purpose and making disciples for Your glory.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
