Legacy Builders–This past Sunday marked the launch of this impactful new series at Rhema South Coast Family Church.
Pastor Larry Elliott shared an empowering message reminding us that building a legacy isn’t just about living for ourselves today, but intentionally sowing seeds for future generations. Pastor Larry challenged us directly: “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.” (Luke 11:23). This sobering verse calls each believer to reflect deeply—are we truly building, or unintentionally scattering?

Understanding Legacy Builders
Becoming a legacy builder requires clarity about who we are and our purpose in God’s Kingdom.
Pastor Larry beautifully put it, “A legacy builder knows who they are, what they’re called to do, and they stay committed to that purpose regardless of circumstances.” Our commitment defines us as believers, reflecting our readiness to build something lasting, not only for ourselves but for generations after us.
Intentional Sowing: The Heart of a Legacy Builder
At the core of Pastor Larry’s message is intentional sowing. Whether in good seasons or challenging ones, legacy builders consistently sow seeds.
As Paul encourages us in Galatians 6:7-9, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” What we invest—be it our time, finances, prayers, or love—will surely shape our harvest.
Essential Seeds to Sow for Lasting Legacy
Sowing the Word of God
Pastor Larry emphasized that first, we must sow God’s Word into our hearts daily. He referenced Mark 4:14, “The sower sows the Word,” reminding us of the importance of scripture in shaping our faith and guiding our decisions.
Sowing God’s Love
Love remains the strongest seed we can sow. The word encourages us through 1 Corinthians 13:8, “Love never fails.” Ps Larry challenged the congregation to let love lead, impacting relationships positively and fostering unity within our communities.
Sowing Time and Resources
Our priorities are revealed by how we invest our time and resources. Legacy builders invest wisely, reflecting their values clearly. Pastor Larry shared the wisdom of 2 Corinthians 9:6, “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”
Every act of generosity or time spent nurturing relationships, supporting ministries like Brotherhood, or serving in Big Church has lasting effects.
Sowing Prayer
Prayer is foundational. “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.” (Psalm 126:5). Our prayerful tears today are the seeds of tomorrow’s joy, growth, and spiritual breakthroughs.
Sowing Worship
Worship draws us close to God, setting the foundation for miracles and breakthroughs. Reflecting on Genesis 8:20-21, he encouraged us to continually offer genuine worship. This must be irrespective of our circumstances, as worship deeply moves God’s heart.
Are You Ready to be a Legacy Builder?
Pastor Larry’s message leaves us inspired yet accountable. Our decisions today determine the legacy we leave behind.
Reflect honestly: Are you actively building, or are you unintentionally scattering? It’s never too late to shift direction. Begin intentionally sowing seeds today and become a genuine Legacy Builder.
