When God Says Go: Embracing Your New Season

Go and make disciples - Go! Faith for a new season

3C South Coast | Sunday Sermon Recap | Go! Faith for a new season

This week at 3C South Coast, Pastor Larry launched our new series, “GO!” — a powerful reminder that the Great Commission is not a suggestion. It is a call. A sending. A lifestyle.

Reading from Matthew 28:18–20, we were reminded that Jesus didn’t just command us to go and make disciples — He promised His presence. “I am with you always.” That changes everything. We are not sent alone. We are sent with authority and with Him.

And this word felt personal: many of us are stepping into a new season.

Recognising You’re in a New Season

New seasons don’t always arrive loudly. Sometimes they come with a quiet restlessness. What used to feel effortless now requires more intention. What once felt familiar now feels tight.

Pastor Larry made a powerful statement: the grace for a season can diminish. Not because God has withdrawn — but because He is moving you forward.

God never intended for us to camp permanently in yesterday’s victories.

Isaiah 43:18–19 * was our anchor:

“Forget the former things… See, I am doing a new thing!”

If we are going to move with God, we must shift our focus. We cannot step into the new while clinging to the old. New seasons require new obedience, fresh faith, and often — courageous decisions.

“GO” Means Movement

The word GO is active. It implies motion. Intention. Response.

You cannot experience a new season while staying spiritually stationary.

Sometimes the reason we don’t move is because we are carrying unnecessary weight — habits, distractions, relationships, comfort zones, or even old mindsets. But movement requires letting go.

There was a clear sense of urgency in the message: Break camp. Move when God says move.

You can’t manufacture a new season, but you can discern it. And once discerned, obedience is your responsibility.

Abraham: Obedience Has No Expiry Date

From there, Pastor Larry took us to Abram in * Genesis 12:1–4 *. At 75 years old, God called him to leave everything familiar and go to a land He would show him.

Seventy-five.

No retirement from obedience. No age limit on destiny. And then comes the promise in * Genesis 12:2–3 * —

“I will bless you… and you will be a blessing.”

That line landed deeply: You are blessed to be a blessing. God’s blessing is not self-contained. It overflows, multiplies, and impacts families, cities, and nations. The new season in your life is not just about you. It’s about the lives that will be shaped through your obedience.

Making Disciples Is Relational

The command to “make disciples” was never meant to become a church programme. It is deeply relational.

“Discipleship is a process, not a church program. It is relational, not an event. Discipleship builds nations.” – Ps Benny Kareli

Discipleship is not an event. It is a process that requires authenticity. Growth. Intentionality. Alignment.

You cannot help make others if you are not allowing God to shape you. When we know we belong to Jesus, submission to godly leadership becomes safe — because God is our source.

Healthy disciples are quick to learn. They are quick to respond and to obey.

Alignment matters. What you refuse to align cannot become fruitful.

Authority: The Right to Act with Power

Jesus said in Matthew 28:18, “All authority… has been given to Me.” Then He sends us. Authority was defined clearly on Sunday: the right to act with power.

We are not trying to manufacture power. We operate from delegated authority.

  • Ephesians 2:5–10 reminds us that we are saved by grace through faith — and created for good works. Grace is not passive. Faith is not inactive. We rest in what Jesus has done, believe His Word, and then step forward in obedience.

One of the sharpest lines from the message:

“Don’t pray for power if you’re doing nothing with the power you already have. You have the gift of the Holy Spirit. God called you to be fruitful, not busy.” – Ps @emmaclaudiac

God has called us to be fruitful, not busy.

A Daily Rhythm for Faith in a New Season

be consistent

The message closed with something beautifully practical — a daily rhythm to build consistent faith:

  1. PRAY briefly
“Lord, speak to me through Your Word. Give me a humble and obedient heart.”
  2. READ slowly
Take a portion of Scripture. Don’t rush.
  3. REFLECT intentionally
Choose one verse. Ask: What is God saying to me?
  4. RESPOND in obedience
    Confess. Thank Him. Adjust. Act.
  5. REMEMBER throughout the day
Carry one truth with you. Bring your mind back to it often. Practise His presence.

Faith for a new season is not built on hype. It is built on habits.

What This Means for 3C South Coast

This series is not just about activity. It is about alignment.

It is about:

  • recognising when God is shifting something in your life — and responding with courage.
  • discipleship that builds families, leaders and nations.
  • moving when Jesus says GO.

And trusting that when you step forward, He is already there.

For Cell Leaders

Focus for the week: Help your group identify their new season and take one practical “GO” step.

Suggested Flow (30–45 minutes)

  1. Icebreaker
Where have you become comfortable recently?
  2. Read Together
  • Matthew 28:18–20 *
    Isaiah 43:18–19 *
  1. Discuss
  • What could a new season look like in your life?
  • What might you need to let go of?
  • Who is one person God may be calling you to disciple?
  1. Practice the 5-Step Rhythm Together
    Model it in the group.
  2. Pray Commissioning Prayers
Pray sending prayers over each person — not just needs, but purpose.

Lord Jesus, You carry all authority in heaven and on earth.
Today we say yes to Your call.

Give us courage to recognise new seasons.
Help us release what no longer serves Your purpose.
Make us bold to go, faithful to disciple, and humble enough to grow.

Fill us with Your Spirit.
Strengthen our obedience.
And use our lives to bless others and build Your Kingdom.

You are with us always.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.
